The grapple is widely used in the logging, mining and other industries. The grapple is a big, hydraulically powered claw that has two or more opposing levers that clamp around logs, rocks, or any other material that needs to be lifted or drug.
The grapple pictured here is a grapple that was brought to MMC Inc. by a mining company that needed a new one made due to the excess wear and tear. When MMC received this grapple, MMC’s engineers reverse engineered the grapple and designed the new and improved model.
The redesigned model of the grapple offers a few new key components that will allow for extended life. In this model there are bushings that are pressed into the claw mount to allow for tight fitment and minimize movement that could allow the hole to become oblong. Grease zerks were also added to the bushings to allow for lubrication and extended life.
